ARTHRAMID® IA INJECTION

Introducing Arthramid ® Intra-Articular Joint Injection

Arthramid is unique patented 2.5% injectable hydrogel that is delivered via injection directly into the affected joint(s). It works by integrating into the synovial membrane (aka the joint capsule) where it forms a bioscaffold to improve the mechanical properties of the joint. This in turn reduces inflammation and promotes joint health through improving joint fluid quality. Joint fluid has several functions within a healthy joint, including providing nutrients to cartilage and providing lubrication and reducing friction, all of which promote joint health and slow the onset/progression of osteoarthritis.

Indications, Safety & Efficacy, Post-Treatment Care

This product is suitable for non-surgical management of severe degenerative joint disease, for ancillary treatment post-operatively, or as part of a long-term treatment plan for dogs with multiple orthopedic co-morbidities. This product is not a replacement for surgery.

Arthramid has been used in humans for a variety of indications and is marketed under many different names. There is roughly 20 years of research on the human side to support its efficacy. In veterinary medicine, 85% of dogs show relief from clinical signs of osteoarthritis and 63% of dogs can either reduce or discontinue their other pain medications after treatment. There is demonstrated improved mobility and range of motion in treated joints, and long-lasting benefits from increased freedom of movement and ultimately, a better quality of life over time.

To help your dog get the most out of their treatment, it's imperative to follow these steps after treatment:

- rest for 48 hours: keep activity minimal for the first two days

- controlled exercise: stick to short, gentle leash walks for the next 2-4 weeks, slowly increasing in duration

- recheck exam: schedule a recheck exam with us for 4-6 weeks after treatment

Arthramid takes approximately 14 days to integrate into the joint's synovial membrane, and visible improvement in your dog may not be noted for up to 6 weeks after treatment.
