OUR TEAM
Tyler
Tyler is the longest serving member of our team. A former shelter cat, Tyler had a very severe case of stomatitis, which resulted in him needing a full-mouth extraction, laser therapy, and immunosuppressive medications.
Now 16 years old, Tyler can usually be found sleeping in one of his many beds, cardboard boxes or baskets behind the reception desk.
Tammy
Tammy joined our team October 2022 after 22 years’ experience at a previous animal hospital.
In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and baseball.
She is owned by her 4 chickens, golden retriever, orange tabby and several goldfish in her goldfish pond.
She is a proud wife, mother of 2 adult children and grandmother of 5.
Kali
AAS, RVT, FFCP
Surgical Coordinator
Kali joined our team in the fall of 2012 and worked her way up from kennel attendant to Surgical Coordinator. She is extremely motivated, having completed her AAS and RVT degrees while working full time. She is nearing completion of the CCAT certificate program through North Carolina State University, which will allow her to provide rehab/physio care to our patients. Kali next has her sights set on achieving a Veterinary Technician Specialist certification both in Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging. She is driven to always be better and do better for our patients.
Kali also has an interest in research and was co-author on a paper published in the prestigious journal Veterinary Surgery in 2023.
Outside of her career, she is an avid Dressage rider and enjoys the challenges and rewards of moving up the levels with an equine dance partner. She is owned by Yaegar, Happy and Casper, her loyal and loveable bird dogs, and Birdie and Havanna, her horses.
Alex
B.Sc, Surgical Assistant, Research Assistant
Alex graduated from Laurentian University with a degree in Forensic Science but her interests changed as she started to volunteer with animals and grew her family by one dog, one bunny and one bearded dragon. From then on, she knew her goal was to have a positive impact on any animal she interacted with.
Alex is currently enrolled in the AAHA Distance Veterinary Technician program and is working eagerly towards earning her RVT degree.
Outside of work, Alex loves to spend time on trails throughout Sudbury with her dogs, Moose and Bunny.
Megan
Surgical Assistant, Research Assistant
Megan joined the EAH team in October 2021. She is currently wrapping up her B. Sc degree at Laurentian University. No stranger to surgery, Megan was previously a dental assistant and specialized in oral surgery.
With the ambition of becoming a Veterinarian, Megan utilizes her roles as surgery assistant and research assistant to improve the health and welfare of all animals she interacts with.
When not rocking scrubs, you can find Megan enjoying the outdoors with her Newfoundland mix, Barrie.
Ashley
Animal Care Attendant
Ashley started off her journey in education as a Child and Youth Care worker but quickly realized her calling was to work with animals instead. Prior to working at EAH, she volunteered with local shelters as well as ran her own small dog walking business. From there on, she knew her number one goal was to have a career in veterinary medicine.
Ashley is currently working as an Animal Care Attendant as well participating in clinical research. She has recently enrolled in the AAHA Distance Veterinary Technician Program and is eagerly working towards her RVT degree. Ashley is always driven to learn new things and to always give our patients the best treatment she can!
Outside of work, you'll find Ashley exploring and creating new memories with her sweet and loving golden retriever, Bigsby.
Stephanie
Animal Care Attendant
Stephanie joined EAH in November 2021 after completing a diploma in Police Foundations. She is a lifelong animal lover and is owned by her sassy little dog called Dixie, her horse Rock, as well as an assortment of fish and reptiles.
Outside of work, you're most likely to find Stephanie somewhere around the French River area, enjoying the outdoors.
Tia
Animal Care Attendant
Tia moved to the French River area after graduating with high distinctions in the Educational Support diploma program at Conestoga College. She is the proud owner of a heritage breed Mangalitsa farm.
Tia was able to combine her agricultural experience with her educational background, that focused on compassionately providing care, when joining our team in the fall of 2022 as an Animal Care Attendant.
She is owned by her three dogs Nila, Finn and Ellie and cat Samson. In her spare time you will find Tia kayaking the French River with her English Setter Ellie.
Cassidy
B.Sc, Research Assistant
Cassidy relocated from Ajax, Ontario to attend Laurentian University where she recently achieved a Bachelor of Science, specializing in Zoology. Her passion for wildlife and the outdoors was all the encouragement she needed to remain in Northern Ontario following graduation.
Cassidy worked at a wildlife rehabilitation centre until she joined the EAH team in March of 2020. With the ambition of becoming a veterinarian, Cassidy utilizes her roles as surgery assistant and as a member of the research team to improve the health and welfare of all animals she interacts with.
Aliisa
B.Sc, Research Assistant
Aliisa joined the practice in March of 2017. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology and will be attending the University of Melbourne, Australia in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program starting March 2019. She assists with data collection, manuscript preparation, study design, and provides technical support; including 3D printing and product development as well as surgical assistance.
When she’s not working she enjoys spending time at camp with her family and her Border Collie.
Sarah
B.Sc, Surgical Assistant, Research Assistant
Sarah graduated from Laurentian University with a degree in Forensic Science and Biology. She has always had a passion for research, and is thrilled to have published her first manuscript in June 2022. The unique opportunity to pursue her interests in surgery and research lead Sarah to EAH, and she joined the team in February 2022. She hopes to one day continue her education by obtaining a Masters degree.
Sarah is owned by her two cats, Cacciatore and Mimosa. Outside of work she can be found camping, as she works towards her goal of visiting every provincial park in Ontario.
Bethany
B.Sc, Lead Animal Care Attendant
Bethany joined the team in November 2019. She originates from Kent, England where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Greenwich. Bethany moved to Canada in September 2019 to pursue her passion of a career in the veterinary field. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program and is working eagerly towards earning her RVT degree.
Bethany has a particular interest in canine rehabilitation and physiotherapy and her long-term goal includes achieving a CCRT certificate. Bethany has always been interested in a career with animals and completed many different volunteer programs with a wide range of species across the world, including seals and goats.
Although she currently doesn’t have any pets, she grew up with dogs and became a registered border and volunteer for Guide Dogs UK. Bethany hopes to adopt a dog in the future but is currently content to spend her free time travelling and visiting the theatre.
Bri
Animal Care Attendant
Bri joined EAH in February 2022, a natural next step in her career path following a lifelong love of animals. In her previous work experiences, she has worked with several different kinds of animals including cats, dogs, small animals, and birds.
Bri aspires to continue on this path and has plans to enroll in the AAHA Distance Veterinary Technician program to obtain her RVT degree.
Outside of work, Bri loves dancing, being in nature, and spending time with her small herd of animals at home. She is owned by two cats, Smokey and Bruno, and two bunnies, Gus and Binks.
